In Oct 2014, the white supremacist National Policy Institute attempted to hold a conference in Budapest, Hungary in the latest effort by paleoconservatives in America to unite with fascists in other parts of the world that have seen a little more success than they ever could stateside. Unfortunately for them, it didn't come without the usual opposition, and that meant the conference location getting raided by Hungarian police and the conference itself shut down – or at least sent away to an undisclosed location. NPI leader Dick Spencer ended up getting detained for that weekend by authorities, eventually deported and banned from entering much of Europe for the next three years. Meanwhile the Hungarian white nationalist Jobbik party and British white nationalist publisher Arktos pulled back their support before the conference, and other like-minded foreigners were either being told to stay home or were sent back to their countries if they showed up at the airport. One of those people that was denied a visa by the Hungarian government was a Russian nationalist so-called “philosopher” named Alexandr Dugin, and his “philosophy” has made room for such gems from him such as "If we want to liberate ourselves from the West, it is needed to liberate ourselves from textbooks on physics and chemistry,” and that the entire Internet needs to be banned “because it gives nobody anything good.”

This is the kind of thing you should expect from a guy who is cheerleading a “conservative revolution” in Russia that wipe out all vestiges of liberalism in that nation and return Russia to the totalitarianism the world complained about with the Soviet Union. Dugin apparently thinks however that the only problem with that was that the USSR chose the platform of Communism to work from, as opposed to Fascism, more to the point his preferred brand of Fascism called Eurasianism. And make no bones about it, that's exactly what he is about. While saying he is against “biological racism”, he has written in the past that in his preferred make up of Eurasia that “wherever there is a single drop  of  Aryan (Slavic, Turkic,  Caucasian, European) blood, there is a chance for racial awakening, for the rebirth of the primordial Aryan conscience.”

As Russia and the Ukraine go to war over Ukraine's effort to become an independent nation, Dugin is right there trying to keep the Ukraine part of Russia, corresponding with the loyalists in Ukraine, building alliances in the European Union between right and left parties to influence EU policy in the region and being the author behind the annexation of the internationally recognized Ukraninan territory of Crimea by the Russian Federation. A professor in the Department of Sociology of International Relations of Moscow State University until 2014, he lost his job when the Russian government started to soften their position on the Ukraine conflict.

Born in Moscow, Dugin was an anti-communist writer in the Soviet Union in the 1980s. He once embarked on a military career and enrolled in the Moscow Aviation Institute, but after authorities learned of his association with far right circles – even translating into Russian Pagan Imperialism by the neo-fascist (although he might say otherwise) philosopher Julius Evola – They arrested and eventually canned him. He worked as a street sweeper and journalist until things started to fall apart with the Soviet Union, and then he jumped into politics. He joined the anti-Semitic group Pamyat, who believed, among other things, that the so-called “Zionist Occupational Government” (ZOG) was running Russia into the ground. He left Pamyat because of he considered its low intellectual level, and eventually started a book publishing company and also went on to help found the National Bolshevik Party (NBP) in 1993. Considering them not to be as right-wing as he liked,  Dugin led some other hardliners to split off and form the National Bolshevik Front (NBF). He later split from this and started to associate with other circles, including Vladamir Putin's, and he has been encouraging him to find alternatives to a relationship with America. He particularly pushes a Eurasian alternative that would solidify the bonds of European and Asian nations and become a rival to the United States whom he believes is pushing a worldwide hegemony through its involvement in world affairs, particularly the Middle East.

In 2002, the Eurasian Party was formed by Dugin and officially recognized by Russia. Three years later, he started the Eurasian Youth Union (EYU) in the Ukraine, and it only took a year before the Ukraine listed him persona non grata and banned the EYU. This has not stopped him for basically using his supporters there to wage a war on the Ukraine for years before Russia decided to. And with the outbreak of violence in the region Dugin has been feeling his oats. In a tweet on August 23, 2014, he said:

“Ukraine should be cleared of the idiots. Genocide of the cretins is suggested. The evil cretins are closed to the Voice of the Logos, and deadly with all their incredible stupidity. I do not believe that these are Ukrainians. Ukrainians are beautiful Slavic people. This kind of appeared out of manholes as a bastard race.”

Now just because Dugin isn't a fan of the West doesn't mean he stays completely away. In March 2015 it was announced that he was to speak at Texas A&M. The invite came courtesy of Preston Wigginton, a neo-Nazi from Texas who has been trying to forge international links between like-minded folks here and abroad to keep “white nations” from becoming "a homogenous muddle of sludge.” He has lived in Moscow, subletting from his friend David Duke and working with Russian fascists, and being that Texas A&M is a public university has been renting out auditoriums there and putting on speaking events for white supremacists for over a decade.

Dugin at Texas A&MWhen Wigginton tried this for Dugin however, there was a bit of a roadblock. Dugin and other leaders of the EYU are sanctioned by the United States “for being responsible for or complicit in actions or policies that threaten the peace, security, stability, or sovereignty or territorial integrity of Ukraine,” according to the US Treasury. That meant he could not enter the country – but its totally not for a book he published lin 2014 titled The American Empire Should Be Destroyed! So Wiginton set up a Skype presentation for him, a lecture titled “"American Liberalism Must be Destroyed “! Despite protests from various groups, notably the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, the event went on as planned on April 29, and it had to be prefaced with Wigginton saying the U.S. government said Dugin was not allowed to "say anything promoting violence or taking over the U.S. government or anything about genocide." Dugin went on to express his love for the American people, and said his sanction must have been sparked by those “who fear the evolution of Putin’s Russia in the direction that I am representing.” From pictures of the event, it didn't look like the love was returned, as rows of empty seats would indicate.

It's dangerous to take a position for either side in the Russian-Ukraine conflict. Both sides seem to be driven by Fascist ideologies with the xenophobic, antisemitic “Pravy Sektor” (Right Sector) being the main fighters in the Ukraine. But people are taking positions either way regardless, and that has made for some very strange and incredibly bad bedfellows. That was apparent in December 2014 when leftists and rightists, many from the U.S., traveled to Moscow to participate in an international conference on the “Right of Peoples to Self-Determination and Building a Multi-Polar World.” Being that there were so many hardcore fascists there, any leftist  that attended should wonder just how much of an alliance they can truly build. But given that one of Dugin's books is titled The Theory of a Multi-Polar World and EYU members were in attendance at the conference, those same leftist attendees should have really wondered just what in all holy hell were they doing there. There is no building any kind of alliances with Fascists, period. Dugin, who ultimately is nothing more than a snake-oil salesman trying to make Fascism look appealing to everyone – just before he starts cutting the throats of many he dupes – is a very good example as to why there isn't.

Leonard Lance is the Republican Congressperson in heavily Republican District 7 in New Jersey, but being that this is New Jersey you can't be too conservative without getting into some trouble. Lance put down a few challenges from people who were part of the teabagger crowd, and he has broken with his party to support legislation like environmental protection. So when you are further right than the teabaggers – like say, a neo-Nazi – and you are running for office, you're pretty much doing a fundraiser since you don't have a real chance of winning anyway. That's more than likely the deal with this brand new piece of work (among other things) named Angelo John Gage, a shill for the White supremacist American Freedom Party (AFP) and the chairman of the AFP-sponsored National Youth Front (NYF). In 2014 he ran for Rep. Lance's seat as a member of the AFP, but he didn't even show up on the ballot, and the only way anyone knew that he was even running is if someone within his circles or anti-racist groups putting him on blast made note of it. So coming off his defeat in the polls, these days his thing is to be the biggest propagandist for the neo-Nazi scene, and that has lent itself to some of the most craptastic crap that ever been crapped!

To fully appreciate it all, we have to explain how this started. In November 2014, the AFP started the NYF, which it said on its website was a “an elite youth organization dedicated to the preservation of America our Western culture [sic].” It's basically a propaganda and activism mill, putting out videos and littering random communities with flyers that deal with various issues of their concern, and they have quite a few active members. It's first chairman was a kid named Caleb C. Shumaker formerly of the Conservative Youth Council, which just like the NYF is a youth activism arm of a fringe third party, the far-right Conservative Party USA. Shumaker didn't last long, however. He resigned in January 2015 saying in his resignation letter, “Due to recent attacks against me, my family and by those whom I believed would support and appreciate what we are doing, I feel it best to step down from my position as chairman of National Youth Front, and step away entirely from the organization.” Gee, we wonder why. According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, AFP Chairman William Johnson told them that those attacks came from within the circles NYF traveled and for a very curious reason. “Caleb Shumaker was forced out because of his interracial marriage,” Johnson said. “I was working with him closely, but there was a lot of backlash [because of his marriage] … from people who were not involved [in NYF].”

So here comes Angelo John Gage to take his place. Born in Italy and moving here when he was two, according to him, he was 17 during Sept. 11, and that is what prompted him to join the Marines leaving as a corporal. He then started to gravitate to some of the consparicy theories about 9/11 being an inside job and other tin foil hattery, and that led him to head conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. But Jones wasn't enough of a crackpot. Gage was missing something and listening to David Icke he realized what that was – antisemitism. Even though he thought that people like Jones and Icke were what he called “controlled opposition”, Icke's mentioning of “Rothchild Zionism” led him on a Google search to find out what that was. Then he started to read more on Zionism on apparently all the wrong website and this meathead bought into what he read.  “I started Googling, 'What's up with Jews?' 'Why are they all bankers?'...”Why are they hated?' I wanted to know where did antisemitism come from,” he explained in one of his videos. “'Why did Hitler hate the Jews?' I typed that in, and then a whole other reality was shown to me, one that was extremely hard to believe, and I was like, 'No fuckin' way is this true. No way! No! All my life I've been told this story. World War II was this way.' And that's when everything changed to me.”

Gage took from everything he read that Hitler was actually the good guy simply trying to rid the world of Communism and instead he was vanquished by Jewish-controlled interests that have been lying to the world since 1913, so he is putting himself out there to fight it all in the name of White people around the world because he thinks the White population is dying out never to be seen again or something. “(T)he reason why it's dwindling is because all of the homelands that we founded are being overrun...by these invaders because the Communists have ursurped our country!” he said, speaking of everyone who isn't white that ended up in places like America and Europe. “These non-White people, that is the main weapon that the Communists are using to destroy us!”

Here is where we get into the effed up thing about this guy. Gage is into something called Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), a methodology that has been used by hypnotherapists in the past and who's most famous practitioner is the controversial motivational speaker Tony Robbins. NLP is largely denounced as brainwashing as well as a cult, so much so that several websites and Facebook pages have been dedicated to warning people about it. Gage is what they call a NLP master practitioner and Conversational Hypnotist, graduating from the International Center for Positive Change and Hypnosis in Manhattan. Even he refers to it in a blog entry that it “is like a mind-hacking program that can be used for good or bad.” And the reason why he says that is because he spends that same entry to accuse his “enemies” of using NLP against him and his people by using words and phrases that would trigger a specific action that is adverse to them in any given situation, saying further that the best way to fight the enemy is to also use this version of NLP. “Remember, NLP is not an offensive strategy,” he writes. “(A)ll you have to do is strategically set them up with questions (like your trying to catch someone lying), sit back and point out flaws in their arguments until they are forced to realize them, and hope they are willing to accept reality.”

Except it's not reality. It's Angelo Gage trying to run a con job on someone, and more to the point, he is calling what he is doing “mind-hacking”.

Gage with NYF propagandaAnd this is why he gravitates so much to propaganda. Over the past year alone, he and NYF had been all over the place with their videos, Gage's podcasts on the White Voice website, NYF memes and NYF flyers. NYF has also been trying since its inception to establish chapters on college campuses across the country, so Gage's main thing as of late has been to take something that had become a racially-charged right-wing temper tantrum on a campus somewhere and try to make it his own. His go-to source has in particular been the website CampusReform.org, which is a project of the Arlington, Virginia-based Leadership Institute (LI), an organization that works to build up activism on college campuses among conservative students, and as of late been the well that a number of youth-oriented hate groups sprung from, namely Youth for Western Civilization (YWC), which was founded by LI members, and Traditional Youth Network, which was founded by Matthew Heimbach, who was the president of his YWC chapter in Towson University. In fact, one of CampusReform's regular writers had been YWC member Timothy Dionisopoulous. So it was pretty much par for the course when Fox News interviewed a CampusReform member about  Arizona State University Prof. Lee Bebout's course titled “U.S. Race Theory and the Problem of Whiteness”, Gage and NYF piggybacked off it, which became pretty much the first time anyone noticed they existed.

That's not due to lack of trying, mind you. The NYF was doing things at Arizona State just prior to this controversy breaking, posting flyers around a few campuses following the attack on the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo allegedly by Islamic militants, one being an anti-Islamic screed about immigration that among other things said:

“Millions of illigals (sic) flood our borders. Millions more are brought here illegally, even though we continue to suffer the worst economic crisis since the great depression. Our politicians refuse to protect us and out livelyhood (sic). They have lost complete touch with reality. Our Corporations donate hundreds of millions of dollors (sic) to funding immigration foundations, while laying off their own employees."

Not wanting to come off too whiny, we suppose they added this to try and be a little inspiring:

"We will not fail, we will not fear, we will not falter. We will not dissapear (sic). This is a declaration of war. America is ours, and we are tomorrow.”

Bebout's class gave the NYF something to do that got them noticed, and after a few months of rallying against him, they were joined by members of the National Socialist Movement, when they held a protest just outside campus in March of 2015 demanding his firing. But they were met with a lot of opposition and basically told to go to Hell. And how well did the NYF fare? The school stood behind Bebout, then an assistant professor of English but has since received tenure and is a full professor.

But Gage just wanted the face time, so since this worked in that regard it became the template. Again, it was  CampusReform who did another article in April 2015, this time about a bulletin board campaign at Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C. that was aimed to get students to reflect on if they benefited from white, male, class, Christian, cisgender, heterosexual or able-bodied privilege. Again, Fox News pushed the story, and again Gage latched onto it. The NYF tried to hassle the chancellor of Appalachian State, but that went nowhere although Gage likes to pretend that the removal of the bulletin board was his group's doing. Problem with that line of thinking is that a second board went up, and when NYF responded with flyers around campus, Appalachian State students responded by calling the group out on their Facebook page.

NYF continued to go after other colleges as well. Many, including Rutgers University, the alma mater of a number of One People's Project founders – not to mention another Leadership Institute alum with white supremacist connections named James O'Keefe, just ignored them. Boston College had other plans for NYF however. Simply put, they didn't put up with their shit at all. In June Incoming professor Saida Grundy came under fire for a series of tweets on a number of issues from police brutality to income inequality that were seen as attacking Whites in general. She apologized for the manner in she addressed the issues but not for addressing them, so conservatives got a tad upset about that. CampusReform wrote about it early in the month, saying that there had been calls to fire Grundy, but Gage didn't jump on it until the beginning of July and he went to Boston College to post flyers around campus that basically signaled they were taking over the campaign to fire her. Well, it backfired. Grundy will still be teaching at Boston University, and Gage got a letter from the Boston University Police Dept. that in part read, “Effective immediately, you [are] hereby notified that you are forbidden to enter or remain upon any of the properties of Boston University.” For our purposes, the cherry on top was how the letter was dated July 22, 2015 – Daryle Lamont Jenkins' birthday!

Levity aside however, we wonder just how much Gage is living in the real world. And if his happy-go-bat-shit-insane fake world ever comes to a head with the real world, he's going to find himself in a world of hurt, and he has even said so in his videos where he says that guys like him don't fare well in today's society. But he has people kissing his ass, and for a guy who is into “mind-hacking” that makes all the difference in the world. So what if he is reportedly associating with James Mazzone (a/k/a James M. McManus), the onetime head of the New Jersey chapter of Aryan Nations, who only recently served a stint in jail for drug dealing? What could possibly go wrong? Watch this space. Folks are going to have fun with this chump.

At the time we are writing this there is a lot of unrest in Ferguson, MO with St. Louis County authorities declaring a state of emergency and more than 100 people were arrested on the second day of protests marking a year since Ferguson Police officer Darren Wilson killed Michael Brown. Also on that day, the militia group known as the Oath Keepers showed up on the streets, and that just made things that much more special. The Oath Keepers are former and current military and law enforcement who  as their website states, “pledge to fulfill the oath all military and police take to 'defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.'” Okay, that sounds benign enough, but as many right-wing efforts go, what they say and how they operate are two different things. So naturally when an all-white, heavily armed group of paramilitary buffoons who were last seen protecting racist rancher and tax cheat Cliven Bundy at his ranch in Nevada show up in the middle of a racial flareup, there's going to be people wondering what the hell is going on.

But this is not so much about Ferguson, but rather the kinds of people who they have had fill their ranks. This was not the first time the Oath Keepers have been in Ferguson. They also showed up in November 2014 when there was a violent flareup following the grand jury decision to clear Officer Wilson of wrongdoing. There were similar concerns as there is the second time they appeared, and fortunately nothing bad happened. On Facebook supporters posted the story of their people going into town and cheered them on, one particular post by a guy named John E. Taylor was particularly curious, simply saying, “Makes me proud to be an Oath Keeper.”

JohnETaylorOathkeeper-1

Why is this post particularly curious? Because John E. Taylor is the older brother of White supremacist Jared Taylor, publisher of American Renaissance.

Looking at him more, we find out that John Taylor, a former Marine, is a “Michigan Moderator” of Oath Keepers. He currently lives in Muncie, Indiana which is a bit of a distance from Michigan, but his wife Cathy is originally from there, so that might be the connection. Now we would not be bringing up John Taylor simply because of his brother's activities. Ardent Christian Rightists, he and his wife are also both very supportive of Jared, sharing his writings on Facebook regularly and attending his events. We will say that John stays under the radar for the most part however, basically focusing on his faith and militia support. In other words, he's one of those people who clings to his guns and religion!

John E. Taylor on Jenner

The Oath Keepers were asked to leave Ferguson the last time they showed up, and we expect to update this entry to say they were again. But when you see people like John Taylor joining them, and the baggage he may bring you can get an idea as to what it is about these groups that have people concerned in the first place.

NAME:H.K. Edgerton

HOME BASE:Asheville, NC

When you are a Black Republican, it is rather questionable. If you are a full on Black Conservative, you are sad. If you a Black Conservative that makes a lot of apologies for white racism while attacking what is seen as black racism, you are pathetic. If you are a Black Conservative that not only makes apologies for white racism but actually endorses it, you are downright despicable and need to be especially routed. Now if you are a Black man, encourage white racists, and even pose with a picture with two white supremacists that you call your friends, the three of you wearing dinner napkins on your head jokingly pretending them to be Klan hoods, you should never be allowed any influence among any people ever again in life. That is why we need to give H.K. Edgerton a place here. The Ku Klux Klan and their neo-confederate/white supremacist brethren are responsible for the hatred and bloodshed among African Americans that have put us in the conditions we are in today, conditions that after 400 years we are just beginning to change. Here we have a black man who disregards that legacy and will count among his friends those that want to further it. Calling him scum is disrespectful to scum.

It is important to know this guy for another reason. Although he is pretty much shunned by black people who he comes in contact with, he tries to work amongst the African American community considering himself "very much a part of the NAACP," according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. In fact he is the former president of the Asheville, N.C. branch of the NAACP! It was in this capacity that he has supported neo-Confederate beliefs and ideals. He has spoken and demonstrated at rallies supporting the Confederate flag, giving the more traditional (read: white) pro-Confederate supporters a good token to hide behind when they try to promote the idea that their stance is not racist. Sadly even though some of those supporters are known Klan members, Edgerton will stand with them. One rally in Stone Mountain, Ga. had him shaking hands and conversing with some of these Klansmen, Edgerton saying later he did not know they were. That excuse does not work however, when we speak of Houston lawyer Kirk Lyons, who has been identified as a member of the National Alliance and was even married by Aryan Nations founder Dick Butler at the former AN compound in Couer d'Ilene, Idaho. Despite Lyons activities as a white supremacist, Edgerton praises him as "someone who's defended more Africans than any other civil rights attorney." Edgerton even joined the Southern Legal Resource Center, the neo-Confederate organization Lyons helped start up, and became chairman of the board. It was with Lyons and SLRC Associate Director and noted white supremacist Neill Payne that he posed for that infamous picture. It was while he was sharing lunch with the two racists in 1998 at the Blue Rooster brew club in Asheville, a meeting he dismissed by saying, "I break bread with the devil every day."

White supremacists Kirk Lyons, left and Neill Payne, right pretend they are Klansmen along with Edgerton, who is giving the term handkerchief head whole new meaning.

That is not the problem, H.K. The problem stems from wearing the devil's clothes, calling him a friend and sharing his beliefs, one of them a pro-slavery stance, saying slavery served as an "institution for learning" and romanticizing it touting a "sense of family" between master and slave. The problem is compounded further by an incident the same year of the luncheon where two Klansmen shot up his cousin's home, which Edgerton believed that it stemmed from his then-position at the NAACP. Despite this, he continues to be an apologist for them, although not as a NAACP member. He was suspended also in December 1998 for non-compliance with NAACP rules when his branch fell into debt, and voted out of office by the membership one month later. After he was bounced out, the state NAACP stepped and Asheville NAACP went from being next to nothing to one of the most active and vibrant chapters in North Carolina.

Edgerton has had a number of failed political campaigns for Asheville mayor and councilman, and he has reportedly been accosted by African Americans while he stood outside a high school with his flag. He has been ostracized so effectively that it seems the only place anyone can find information on him via the internet is from the neo-Confederate sites. Nevertheless, he is still out there, and people might see him on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day somewhere in Asheville. He will be standing where celebrations will be taking place waving his Confederate flag. That will be the same flag that South Carolina raised in 1964 to protest the Civil Rights bill King fought and gave his life for. Edgerton is the epitome of fool.

Tony Perkins

NAME: Anthony Richard Perkins
A/K/A: Bob Grant
DOB: 3/20/63
HOME BASE: 4646 Groom Rd., Baker, LA 7-714

Politics and religion have always produced an unholy mix of theocratic fascism, racism, bigotry, corruption, and lies. The first amendment guarantees the freedom of religion, but it guarantees which religion we can freely choose or decide not to chose, including the right not to choose a religion. Unfortunately, these right-wing theocrats from the Christian Right never give up on their quest to trample on our religious and constitutional rights by making their church the sole religion. Old theocrats like Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, and James Dobson have been around for many decades, but a newer and younger face from the Christian Right is notoriously making his rounds.

His name is Tony Perkins and he is the President of the Family Research Council group. He was born March 20, 1963 and is married to Lawana and has four children. Living in Louisiana most of his life, he was heavily active with the Republican party and served on the Louisiana House of Representatives in East Baton Rouge from 1996-2004. Tony Perkins became the president of FRC in 2003; the FRC is a copy of the Christian Coalition formed by a controversial right-wing fundamentalist preacher named James Dobson. The FRC claims they are a non-partisan, not-profit group based on innocent Christian values, but the reality is Tony Perkins and the FRC have been actively using manipulative media tactics, hypocrisy, lies, and right-wing extremist tactics to lure people into giving money to their group so they can help Republicans get elected into power and let their fundamentalist churches rule the government. With the deceptive charisma of Tony, he has managed to carry out an effective agenda of bigotry, intolerance, lies, and theocratic fascism.

Tony Perkins has close ties to white supremacist hate groups from the bayou. In the April 26, 2005 issue of The Nation magazine, journalist Max Blumenthal writes of Perkins' racist ties. In 2002, Tony Perkins addressed the Louisiana chapter of the Council of Conservative Citizens (CCC). In a 1996 election, Tony Perkins paid former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard David Duke $82,000 for his mailing list of white supremacist hate group members, resulting in a $3000 fine by the Federal Election Commission for this illegal transaction.

His audience is overwhelmingly of white European descent, but there is another group of people than the non-whites Tony hates even more; he adamantly hates homosexuals with a passion. His relentless political campaign against homosexuals has firmly earned his FRC group as a homophobic hate group.

Some examples of his homophobic stance is his relentless quest to outlaw same-sex marriages, exclude homosexuals from civil rights and hate crime victims legislation, and spreading demagogy and lies to the public to hate gays.

He applauded the decision of several African American bishops to reject aid to African AIDS victims from churches that allow gay clergy. In 2005, when the House of Representatives passed a hate crime bill which would include gays as victims, he denounced the bill as a "bill designed to protect children from sexual predators is now being used to protect the sexual preference of homosexuals". Actually, the typical profile of a child sexual predator is a heterosexual white male like himself, but don't rely on lying hypocrites like Tony to tell you the truth.

If his bigotry against gays and non-whites wasn't enough, Tony continues his campaign against non-fundamentalist Christians, women, scientists, and the overwhelming majority of Americans who do not share his extremist viewpoints. He vigorously fights for open Christian prayer for school and amendments guaranteeing Christian prayer, but he continuously attacks and intimidates other religions. Tony may use his manipulative demagoguery to fool the public into believing the Muslims/Jews/Catholics/Hindus/Buddhists/etc... are in an active conspiracy to eliminate Christianity from public schools, but the reality is that non-partisan groups such as the ACLU and Americans United for the Separation of Church and State have been entering the public school prayer debate so religious wingnuts like Tony Perkins won't gain a significant advantage and belittle other religions.

Another more than annoying and dangerous aspect with Tony Perkins' lies and bigotry is the supposed moral war he is imposing against scientists and medical advancement at the cost of the health of the general public. Tony and the FRC has done an incredible disservice by misinforming the public and the politicians about certain medical research projects. He and FRC were active to ban stem cell research by spreading rumors and lies the embryos come from aborted fetuses. Nevertheless, President Bush vetoed stem sell research in 2006 with much help from Tony's hysteria. When a vaccine for cervical cancer was in development in 2006, the FRC were at it again, claiming this cure was immoral because it deals with the female sex organs and may led to sexual immorality (what's next, oppose breast cancer research because breasts led to sexual immorality?). But why would he care about truth, science, and education, when he is actively seeking to eliminate the Department of Education.

Unlike many of the older hypocritical preachers, Tony Perkins is relatively young and will be around for years ahead. But just as the right-wing extremist hypocritical preachers have wisened up, so has the rest of the public to see through their manipulative tactics. Tony Perkins carries the sign of the bigot and we will do our part to expose this sign as he goes more and more public.

This is the man that most white racist idiots swore by. If it is on a white racist bent, chances are it has a William Pierce connection. Pierce was the head of the National Alliance, a white supremacist group based in West Virginia. Pierce, under the pen name Andrew MacDonald, was also the author of The Turner Diaries, a racist novel that many say inspired Tim McVeigh in his bombing of the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City. Pierce's influence is felt all over the country in every facet of white supremacist activism, whether it is David Duke's work (Duke's right hand man Bruce Alan Breeding, a/k/a Vince Edwards, runs the National Alliance in Tampa FL), music (Pierce bought Resistance Records from former RaHoWa lead singer George Burdi when he was facing legal troubles) and even mainstream politics (National Alliance members are among those of the Council of Conservative Citizens, a group that Rep. Bob Barr spoke before and who Senate Minority Leader Trent Lott and other politicians have strong ties to). It is said that Pierce was also a member of a prestigious country club in the Washington DC area called the University Club, however that has not been confirmed, and it may be possible that the Club has since expelled Pierce.

Pierce started his career in hate politics while he was an assistant professor of physics at Oregon State University in the early 1960s. There he briefly joins the John Birch Society, a popular group at the time for fascists.

By 1966 he was ready to join the American Nazi Party headed up by George Lincoln Rockwell, leaving a job as a senior research scientist at a aerospace firm in Connecticut to do so. It is at this time he started a rag called the National Socialist World as some sort of newspaper for the Nazis. The following year, Rockwell dismisses one of his lieutenants, John C. Patler after accusing him of pitting light-skinned whites against dark-skinned whites. In response, Patler puts an end to Rockwell's miserable life in an Arlington, Virginia as he was driving out of a shopping center parking lot. This is an opportunity for Pierce, who starts moving up the ranks. In 1968 he joins Youth for Wallace, and organization that supports George Wallace's run for the presidency. Along with Pierce is Liberty Lobby's Willis Carto, and together they change Youth for Wallace into the National Youth Alliance in 1970, working under the mantra "Free men are not equal. Equal men are not free." They apparently felt that neither of them were each other's equal because a rift forms over who is going to be the leader, causing them to split. Pierce gains control of the group and the rift becomes a full-on feud, Carto accusing Pierce of stealing a Liberty Lobby mailing list, and Pierce writing those on the list to attack Liberty Lobby leaders.

By 1974, Pierce wants to expand the National Youth Alliance, whose membership is limited to people under 30 and whose activities are focused on college campuses. Pierce reorganizes the National Youth Alliance to the National Alliance, and the organizations goal is to be a vanguard party leading the "lemmings" to revolutionary victory. His self-termed "handbook for white victory", The Turner Diaries is published in 1978 which goes on to be the white racist's bible of sorts. It is so much so that a lumberjack named Robert Matthews, who is Pierce's Pacific Northwest leader, forms a group called the Order, which is based on the group of racist guerillas of the same name in The Turner Diaries. This group goes on to rob $4 million from armored cars (which many believe but have never proved went into Pierce's pockets) and to killed Alan Berg, a popular Jewish-talk show host in Denver. Matthews is later killed in a shootout with FBI agents in Washington State, but the controversy never slows down Pierce.

Soon Pierce was looking for more legitimate way to make his group turn a profit. In 1987 the National Alliance purchases 100 shares of AT&T stock. With this they do fun things like make stockholder proposals calling for an end to business ties with Israel. The proposal go on to be voted down every year it comes up. Over the next few years, The National Alliance becomes a propaganda publishing mill, Pierce writing a second novel called Hunter which is about a racist assassin, and making cassette tapes of racist speeches. In December, 1991, American Dissident Voices, the National Alliance shortwave radio show begins, and in 1993 the group starts publishing New World Order Comix.

It was not all roses and glory for Pierce, however. In 1996 the Southern Poverty Law Center win an $85,000 judgment against him for his role in a scheme to keep Church of the Creator assets from the family of a murdered sailor named Harold Mansfield. The COTC tried to keep the family from collecting a $1 million judgment by transferring its assets to Pierce, and it did not work. It is also only a matter of time before hate crimes are directly tied to the National Alliance, and Pierce suffers the same fate as Richard Butler and Tom Metzger. Pierce still remained to the end just as much the racist moron he had always been, and considering how much money it has made him over the past few decades, there was no reason for him to quit. On July 23, 2002, the devil said Pierce has done enough and called him home to Hell at 12:00 Noon.

Founder of the US Taxpayers Alliance and president of the Conservative Caucus Research, Analysis & Education Foundation. Has been chairman of the Conservative Caucus since 1974. Phillips is a Christian Rightist who has railled against the woman's right to choose, homosexuals and ran as the nominee for president for the US Taxpayers Party (USTP, now known as the Constitution Party) in 1996. The USTP is a organization that hides behind the guise of rights and freedoms to promote a facist agendathat curtails the rights of Americans they disagree with. Take their stance on AIDS: "Under no circumstances should the Federal government continue to subsidize activities which have the effect of encouraging homosexual conduct. Criminal penalties should apply to those whose willful acts of omission or commission place members of the public at toxic risk." Their platform on individual rights, is the stance racists used to justify their actions: "Each and every citizen should be free to choose his friends and associates to offer, seek or refuse employment, and to rent or sell his property to whom he wishes." Their stance on crime makes that stance clearer: "We are opposed to the so-called 'Racial Justice Act,' which seeks to provide criminals convicted in capital cases with a racial basis for appeal...We oppose the establishment of police review boards which seek to put on trial the peace officer rather than the law breaker...We oppose the concept of so-called 'hate crimes,' recognizing that all crimes of violence are now punishable under other statutes," Incidentially, the USTP has been tied to militant anti-abortion groups and the militia movement. Philips died on Hitler's birthday.

JAMES MEREDITH

NAME: Dr. James Meredith

DOB: 6/25/1933

We wonder what the hell James Meredith was buying to sell his soul to the devil as much as he did. For those who know the history of the Civil Rights Movement and recognize that name, yes it is the same James Meredith that thirty years ago became the first black student at the University of Mississippi, one of the more pivotal moments in the movement. Yes, it is the same James Meredith that marched with Martin Luther King, Jr., was shot and almost killed for standing up for his civil and human rights, and who said the objective for all of us is "complete freedom, complete rights and privileges for each citizen in this democracy." Why is he here? Meredith rejects all of this now, to the point of one time working for Jesse Helms and endorsing David Duke when he ran for the US Senate in Louisiana. It is a sad, sad fall that breaks a lot of hearts, but the insult that is James Meredith will not go on any further without a response.

Born June 25, 1933, in Kosciusko, Mississippi, Meredith served in the Air Force from 1951 to 1960, including a tour of duty in Japan. He then attended Jackson State College for two years before attempting to transfer to the University of Mississippi, After being twice rejected, Meredith, with the help of the NAACP'S Medgar Evers and NAACP attorney Constance Baker Motley from New York City, filed a complaint with the district court in May 1961. Meredith's allegations that he been denied admission because of his color was rejected by the district court. However, on appeal, the Fifth Judicial Circuit Court reversed this ruling. By a 2 to 1 decision the judges decided that Meredith had indeed been refused admission solely because of his race and that Mississippi was maintaining a policy of educational segregation. The court ordered the university to desegregate and admit Meredith.

This did not go unopposed by whites in Mississippi, most notably then-governor Ross Barnett. By accounts, Barnett's actions and his demagogically climactic stadium speech at a football game at Jackson at the end of September 1962, were deliberately designed to foment racist mob violence, an account that is supported by the fact Barnett was a White Citizen Council member. The next day, thousands of heavily armed white Mississippians milling around downtown Jackson in a huge sea of Confederate flags -- many of the armed people, six and eight abreast, surrounding the Governor's Mansion in order to "protect" the Governor from the US marshals who were rumored to be coming to arrest him on contempt charges for multiple violations of US 5th Circuit Court of Appeals and US Supreme Court orders (The US marshals never came). White Citizens Council leaders were haranguing the huge crowd with bull-horns from the Plaza Building, right across from the Gov's Mansion. That night, all hell broke loose at the University's Oxford Campus, Meredith's first night there. Things got to the point that US Attorney General, Robert Kennedy sent federal marshals to protect Meredith from threats of being lynched. When the smoke cleared, 160 marshals were wounded (28 by gunfire) and two bystanders were killed. Bob Dylan would later write the song "Oxford Town" about this day.

The first semester was tough, Meredith saying that he was not made to feel like a student at the school, but he did return the following semester. "I (went) back for a second semester because I saw signs that gave me hope that I will be able to go to school in the future under adequate, if not ideal, conditions," he said at the time. "No student should have to be subjected to the sort of fanfare I underwent during the first semester. Though no price is too high to pay for liberation, I am convinced that you can pay a price for one piece of freedom that is greater than the benefits you get." Meredith successfully graduated in 1964, and his account of this experience, Three Years in Mississippi was published in 1966. Of that book, a reviewer for Newsweek wrote, "Seldom is a piece of violent history so dispassionately dissected by one of its participants as it has been by James Meredith in this three-years-later study of his breakthrough at the University of Mississippi. Part report and part legal brief, part manifesto, part tract, it is a valuable and fascinating account."

1966 was also the year that Meredith organized the "Walk Against Fear," a one-man march from Memphis to Jackson against the physical violence faced by African-Americans exercising their voting rights. While on that march, Meredith was shot by a sniper hiding in a grove of trees. He took a month to recover from that attack and when he was physically able to resume the march, he did so, joined this time by the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., and other prominent civil rights leaders of the day.

His one other milestone in this era was an unsuccessful run for Congress in 1972. As the years went on he had written several books and has spoken at numerous colleges. Then he started to lose it.

Shockwave No. 1 came in 1989 when he signed on for a stint on the staff of arch-conservative (read: racist) Senator Jesse Helms during his re-election campaign against Charlotte Mayor Harvey B. Gantt, himself the first black man to enroll at Clemson University in 1963. This was the campaign that Helms was almost certain to lose until he came out with an ad campaign weeks before the election that played on the fears of whites in North Carolina of African Americans taking their jobs away from them with affirmative action. Helms went on to win that, cheered on by Meredith who started to feel the heat from those who felt he abandoned him. The heat got turned up a notch when in 1991, Meredith endorsed David Duke in his bid for US Senate "The difference between James Meredith and other civil rights leaders is that Meredith came to realize that forced integration was not a good thing for black people or for white people," Duke said at the time. "He thinks that integration has really beheaded the black community. It has hurt the integrity of the black community. It's hurt the educational standards for blacks. It's really brought about a lot of racial tension. Integration has produced things in this country like skinheads. There are massive numbers of white young people with intense dislike of minorities."

Now folks were pissed and wanted to know what was going on.

Meredith had by this time explained himself in a 1990 interview published in the neo-Confederate Southern Partisan. In the interview, he said that he had always been on the right and that the liberals through the media kept the population thinking he was one of them. "The white liberals were the ones who concocted the scheme of the so-called civil rights movement, and their principal objective was to establish the black as a second class of citizenship," he said. "That's something that had never been attempted before."

Never been attempted? What the hell would he call him being denied admission to Ole Miss? "Well as far as I'm concerned, (whites) would have been crazy not to fight against me, because I went there to fight them," he said. "I went there to take their good thing away from them." Years later on CSPAN, he even defended Gov. Barnett's actions in Oxford, saying that they, including his speech at the football game, were intended to protect blacks by focusing the white reaction towards Kennedy and the US Government!"

He didn't stop there. In the Southern Partisan interview he railed against virtually everything and everyone that fought and died for him. Even Martin Luther King, Jr. was blasted. "There's no question in my mind but that his philosophy was damaging to the black race," he said. "No citizen should ever give up his rights. To give up your rights is un-American." Meredith is referring to King's philosophy of non-violence, which he says acceding to is "giving up your manhood."

In 1998, Meredith went back to his alma mater to lecture students during his "Black Man's March for Education," which was part of an effort to raise awareness about the problems of black illiteracy. It was there that Meredith dropped a bomb saying that he was did not consider himself African American but rather native American! "In the Choctaw Nation, just like in England still, you have aristocratic nations," Meredith said. "The people who govern society belong to specific families. I'm in that line. If the Choctaw Nation was still in existence, my father would have been the leader."

He continued by saying that white leaders began enslaving Native Americans and calling them "blacks" during the 1830's. Meredith said that most black Mississippians were probably descendents of the Choctaw Indians. "That's the last time I'm hearing Afro-American without straightening it out," he corrected one student. "I'm not Afro-American; I'm Native American. Afro-American is a politically-correct term."

Not content with insulting the assembled black student body that much, he then went on to say he believed blacks should be taught English as a second language to insure that they can read, write and spell proper English. "The black students here do not know the basic rules of the language," Meredith said. "Whether any of you learn it or not, I feel like it is my responsibility to tell you that. I don't care if you get mad as long as you correct the problem."

And mad is what they got. Many of the black students knew they did not deserve that, and certainly did not consider themselves a part of the problem that needed to be corrected. One freshman shouted at him in tears before leaving saying, "I will honor what you did in 1962, and I will honor you for taking that bullet for your cause. I came here expecting to hear what you went through, but today you have disgraced me and made me feel ignorant." There were more outbursts of anger before the lecture was cut after a heated exchange between Meredith and the head of the Black Student Union.

Meredith's account of his lineage had been questioned on a discussion board a few years back. One particular post correctly noted that almost all Southern Blacks have some Indian ancestry, and with the exception of the Eastern Cherokee, located in the NC mountain country, almost all Southern Indians have some African ancestry. The post also notes that the Mississippi Band of Choctaws is and always has been very much intact and have they handily survived various efforts to do away with them as a tribe. Most importantly, there is no way whatsoever that Meredith's father could have become a Choctaw chief. Even with some Indian ancestry, he was not an Indian -- and another family has had the Choctaw chiefdom sewn up down there for a hell of long time!

In 1991 Meredith went back to Mississippi after working with Helms and staged more political campaigns, once again for Congress and another for Mayor of Jackson, Miss. Both were unsuccessful as they should be. That discussion board poster said it best: "Jim Meredith is a human tragedy. He went through an incredibly challenging crucible -- stood up extraordinarily well. And then, over time, he began to crumble. The pieces are now widely scattered. Not all Movement casualties have come from bullets and clubs and dynamite and rigged auto wrecks."

NAME: Barbara Coe

DOD: 8/31/2013

HOME BASE: Huntingdon Beach, CA

December 8, 2001 was a busy day for fascists. In Philly, police attacked a rally to support Mumia Abu-Jamal, injuring some ralliers. In Anaheim, California, the California Coalition for Immigration Reform and American Patrol, two rabidly anti-Hispanic organizations, clashed with counter-demonstrators to their "Defend our Homeland" Rally outside City Hall. The CCIR is headed up by Barbara Coe, and this group played a leading role in California's Proposition 187 as well as maintaining alliances in both mainstream politics and white supremacist circles. Given this attack, as well as an attack on her home a few weeks later, it seems some folks are getting damned sick of her.

When we began this entry we had just one question: Why in the hell did it take so long to do this on her? For that we apologize, because this she and her contemporary, Voices of Citizens Together's Glenn Spencer, are way too influential to ignore. According to the Center for New Community, Coe has personally unleashed numerous venomous bigoted attacks on Latinos, blaming them for ills ranging from pollution to disease to destruction of the education system. For example, she told the Washington Times, "Are we shocked by the demands that Latinos be given instant citizenship privileges... These are the same legal and illegal immigrants who bleed our welfare and medical care programs dry for benefits that citizens are denied, destroy our educational system, and laugh at our judicial system while they grab their welfare checks with one hand, deal drugs with the other, and their gangs savagely murder our citizens." (Washington Times, October 13, 1996, reprinted in 9*1*1, October, 1996)

Coe also supports the stupid notion bandied about among white supremacists of a "Reconquista." This is a theory that suggests that Hispanics are trying to reclaim the Southwestern US for Mexico via immigration. Coe outlines this theory as follows:

"The ultimate goals of the Mexican government are...:

1. Reconquest/reclaim all the southwestern states for Mexico as the 'NATION OF AZTLAN;'

2. Take over & control the United States government;

3. Establish communism in the United States...

Based on the premise that nothing happens without a 'reason', ask yourself why our gov't refused to secure our borders & deport all illegal aliens... Many believe this reveals a 'master plan' designed by the "NEW WORLD ORDER" advocates and that IMMIGRANTS are being "used" to achieve their goal. After all, what better way to control a government than. . . overwhelm a free people by sheer numbers of those who easily accept tyranny and then, "using their vote" attain the positions of power needed to enslave us all?... Regardless of our own conclusion, can there be any doubt our gov't has us on the "fast track" toward abolishment of our sovereignty, rights & freedoms AND all loyal, law-abiding citizens are the VICTIMS of the 'immigration invasion?"'

Coe gets tagged! Now with links to the white supremacist movement and mainstream politics, guess which group in particular group has their hand in Coe's dealings? Enter the Council of Conservative Citizens! The Center for New Community notes that in December 1995, Coe and another CCIR leader, Stan Hess, appeared a Birmingham conference of the white supremacist group. Coe also wrote a cover story for the Fall 1996 issue of the Citizens Informeralong with longtime C of CC leader Earl Holt. The article described pro-immigrant demonstrators as "cockroaches" and noted, "many Americans opposed to current U.S. immigration policy cite the perception that they have become 'second class citizens' in their own country."

The Center also notes that three years later, Coe was again in Alabama for a rally in Cullman. Hess was arrested with Alabama anti-immigrant activists James Floyd and William Burchfield, former state leader for Thom Robb's National Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, after the three burned a Mexican flag, a United Nations flag and a flag bearing a hammer and sickle. One month later, in its newsletter, 9*1 *1, CCIR praised Floyd and Burchfield, dubbing them, "patriots of the highest caliber who are seeing their state, Birmingham & their own home town of Cullman being destroyed by the deluge of illegal aliens who are being imported to work for the 'cheap labor' poultry corporations."

Three months later. Burchfield was group leader of Alabama Christians for Immigration Reform, and that they were a member group of CCIR. "Having met many of the people during our recent trip to Cullman, Alabama, it was apparent they are true loyal American patriots who will not stand idly by and allow the 'immigration invasion' to destroy THEIR state!" The CCIR announcement read.

Coe later involved herself in the Minuteman Project in 2005 becoming a board member, and would later be a part of infighting that sought to fire Jim Gilchrist for mismanagement. After she resigned from the board in 2007, Barb went off the radar for a number of years, even as the immigration issue heated up more and more. Of course, with the first black president in office, it wasn't like she was laying low. She joined the ranks of the pathological Obama haters, as noted by her response to Obama taking out Osama bin Laden:

"HE LIES! We hope, we pray that you did NOT believe him. OBAMA is a proven, radical pro-Islamic Muslim BUT will do/say ANYTHING to get re-elected. OBAMA has illustrated that he complies with Sharia Law - which demands Misleading or Lying (TAQIYYA) to promote the Koran's mandate to "torture, kill ALL non-Muslim 'infidels'. DUMP OBAMA (and his fellow-TRAITORS) or DIE! YOUR CALL!"
There might have been something to that, however. On Aug. 31, 2013, about nine and a half months after Obama was not dumped but in fact reelected, Barbara Coe died of lung cancer at her home at the age of 79. Now sadly because she fell off our radar at the time (read: we didn't give a shit about her anymore), we didn't do our regular Rot in Hell "tribute" to her. Still, we don't think we could beat the celebratory sendoff that OC Weekly did for her at the time, where they note, "The world is a far-better place with Babs in Hell. And, yes: Coe is in hell because there's no way she would ever want to be in heaven, the domain of that swarthy illegal alien savage named Jesús."

Heather MacDonald

NAME
Heather MacDonald
DOB
1956
HOME BASE

New York, NY

When Heather MacDonald was on a call-in program on C-SPAN during the Book Expo in Los Angeles recently, one caller, a black man from Houston, had a particular problem with her. "Every time I see this young lady on television she always talks about black people and the privileges we get, and I'm wondering what is her agenda," he said. "Where does that contempt for black people come from?" That question was a long time coming. Heather MacDonald is best - some would argue only - known as a protagonist writer against people of color and an advocate for the dissolution of civil rights. She is a mainstream conservative however, so this characterization may be contested by her. In fact she will definitely tell you that her efforts are done in the interest of preserving our freedoms. Of course, that is like when conservatives fought the civil rights movement and the anti-apartheid efforts in South Africa in the name of fighting communism. In other words, it's a crock of shit.

In the past twenty years there has been no greater success story for racists than their ascension in New York City politics. During that time conservatives used every opportunity to diminish the strength of people of color in the Big Apple, and to a great deal they have succeeded. Rudolph Giuliani became mayor due to his courting these racist elements and spent his tenure directly engaged in a war with African Americans. For the past nine years, a white supremacist named Frank Borzolierri has sat on a school board in Queens, a school board that once helped oust the Hispanic schools chancellor Jose Fernandez because of him including a curriculum that teaches tolerance of gays. The New York Post has used its pages to race-bait, featuring articles and columns by writers that are also found in white supremacist publications. 77 WABC has also been a part of the hatemongering, with their roster including Bob Grant, who has even allowed white supremacist groups to leave their contact information on the air, and Sean Hannity who once promoted a bid for Congress by his friend Hal Turner.

While the black/white war in NYC wasn't one-sided, it most certainly was a boon for the right-wingers who have been trying to find new ways to undercut the African American community across the country. A non-practicing lawyer fresh from stints at the EPA and as a clerk for a Judge Stephen Reinhardt in California, Heather MacDonald moved to the city from Los Angeles in 1987 and jumped into the racial tensions going on there at the time. She found herself at a conservative think tank called the Manhattan Institute (MI) This lovely place was founded by former CIA director William Casey and in the past was funded by far right eugenics advocates such as the Pioneer Fund and others, Many of those other backers also backed Hitler's rise to power. One of them, Chase Bank, has publicly apologized for its support of Hitler, but where today's hate politics are concerned, MI does not seem so forgiving. They have sponsored eugenics projects, most notably the pro-eugenics book The Bell Curve, a best-selling book that proposed the idea that blacks are mentally inferior. On one website, it is noted that while the Manhattan Institute does not publicly advocate mass extermination or mass relocation of minorities the policies it does promote are mostly about targeting black and Latino inner city populations in such a way as to make relocation an attractive option and elimination a day to day reality. It should be noted that they were responsible for Rudolph Giuliani's campaign for mayor, and his abandoned senatorial campaign, both of which faced strong opposition by the African American community. They were also involved with President Bosh's 2000 presidential bid, which also found itself on the bad side of African Americans, especially at the end.

This was fertile ground for MacDonald, who said she started writing by addressing what she saw were "academic problems". In particular, she was pissed about what she saw as universities being overrun by a "know-nothing" attack on western culture. "You have now students refusing to read the great books if their authors don't match their own ethnicity or gender?and their professors that they have are often fueling the stupid identity politics," she said, bringing in the common tactic among conservatives of indirectly attacking a group or individual by blaming the universities, media, government, etc. for a given problem. In fact, this is a tactic she leans on like a crutch. By the way, MacDonald served on Mayor Giuliani's task force on CUNY.

On the aforementioned C-SPAN program she was on, one caller noted another tactic common among your more far right figures. MacDonald is taking her ideology and passing it off as social science. It is why her conclusions on various issues never seem to correspond with reality. For one thing, she does not believe that racial profiling exists, a theme she began in 2001 just after the Cincinnati uprising after Timothy Thomas, a 19-year-old African American boy with no criminal record and no weapon was murdered by a police officer. Her contention is that "civil libertarians" are furthering the notion that police should arrest based on the population ratio, and they have concocted this notion of racial profiling. As every conservative must, she also blames the press for creating the notion as well. Never mind the fact that it was the police officers themselves that have been saying they practiced it, particularly former New Jersey State Police Chief Carl Williams who lost his job after he gave an interview to a newspaper and said that they did. She not only forgets this, but basically ignores the number of complaints that African Americans have filed regarding this, some even calling the C-SPAN program. One of those callers was stopped 31 times. On a Fox News program in 2001 when she first mentioned her so-called "study" on the issue, the person she was debating correctly slammed it as "junk science". Here's the funny part: MacDonald supports racial profiling. She says she does, not for African Americans, who have made it an unpopular stance to take, but for dealing with terrorists, an area where racial profiling has had a lot of support.

Then there are her columns. To read them, one would have to conclude that she is a) in complete denial of the truth, b) a hopeless fanatic who needs to spin the truth to conform to her worldview, c) incredibly stupid, or d) all of the above. There are way too many examples of this to list here, but in doing this entry and looking at her columns, one just leaped out at us. In referring to the INS detainees that have been rounded up and held in jails across the country without any charges filed against them, MacDonald said that it was only "a mere 1,200 men?a minute fraction of the Muslim and Arab population in America". Those detentions do not bother MacDonald because she feels it "may have averted at least two more attacks" according to someone she says is an "expert" on Al Queda at St. Andrews University. We bet that if 1,200 white men were rounded up the same way, the argument that it might have averted bombings of abortion clinics might not work with her. She would even probably call that racist. Food for thought, Heather.

Given the above, it should not be any surprise that MacDonald is a supporter of the Patriot Act. She received more than an earful when at the 13th annual Computers, Freedom and Privacy conference in New York in April 2003, she defended the Pentagon's proposed Total Information Awareness System, which would be a massive database of information on every American including credit card, medical school and travel records.

Of course given what we at OPP do here, it is in many ways quite welcome that MacDonald feels this way. On the website Slashdot, a poster suggested this to her:

I say if Ms. MacDonald believes concerns about privacy are outdated and only the concern of Luddites, then I say she ought to lead by example. I hearby make a public calling to Ms. MacDonald to immediately do all of the following to prove to us that privacy shouldn't be an issue:

* Make available all her credit card numbers, PINs, bank account numbers, and all personal financial information, including bank statements and both personal and professional tax information.

* Make available to the public all financial statements, receipts and information concerning purchases she has made.

* Make available for public viewing all personal correspondences via all mediums (i.e., email, written, phone, etc.)

* Make available all passwords to her Internet accounts and online services.

* Make available all professional exchanges between herself and her clients as well as those of others in her field and those with whom she does other business.

* Make available for public viewing all personal journals and/or diaries as well as any personal records pertaining to herself or her family members (i.e., birth certificates, medical records, etc.)

* Install 24-hour Web cams in her home, business or place or work and in any other places she spends significant time; of course, we expect that since privacy is not a concern, all personal moments in the bedroom and bathrooms will be freely available in an uncensored form.

* Leave the locks on the doors of her home, car, business and elsewhere (including safes and other contained personal belongings) unlocked and available to the general public.

I'm sure there are other items and areas I have forgotten, but since Ms. MacDonald seems to willing to give up privacy in favor of protection from a world full of terrorists, I bet she will happily accommodate any further requests in the future.

So, Ms. MacDonald... lead the way. Lead by example. Show us poor, befuddled, unwashed Luddites the way out of our backward thinking about privacy and basic human rights, We'll be right behind you too because it's painfully obvious to us that an attorney with links to a conservative think-tank who feels the need to swipe aside the our basic rights could have nothing but the best of intentions for us.

Oh, how we agree!

MacDonald's book quickly fell off the radar screen and after the Book Expo, not much of it or her was heard from. In fact, this revision was done on Halloween, 2004, and she has been pretty much nonexistant on the scene. She will be back however. The Faux News Channel in particular likes to trot her out whenever it is time to attack African-Americans, so it is probably best to wait until that moment arises again.

DOB: 9/11/33

2. Take over & control the United States government;
